Empty Arms Bereavement

Meet our Support Group Facilitator, Jill Atstupenas

My husband and I struggled with infertility for many years before we finally became pregnant with our daughter, Hadley Maeve, in 2020. At my 19-week anatomy scan, our world started crumbling around us. After traveling to see several different specialists, our daughter was diagnosed with several severe brain malformations. We made the heartbreaking decision to terminate our pregnancy days shy of being 24 weeks pregnant. I delivered Hadley in 2021 and will cherish the moments we got to spend with her for the rest of my life.

Since losing Hadley I have found so much support in the Empty Arms community. I cherish every relationship I have built through this community. I especially cherish the moments when I am able to support another parent struggling with the difficult emotions of a TFMR. I hope that I can offer support to those in their darkest moments just as Carol and others have done for me.
